What would you do if someone ran up to you and said, “Get out of my way; I was here first? Even if they weren’t? Or how about if they pushed you out of the way so they could be served first because they felt that you shouldn’t be served at all? After all, “your kind doesn’t belong around here”. Are any of these acts or behaviors truly racist? I think not. I fear that society has taught us not to accept one another for who and what they are. I don’t blame any one individual for the ignorance of others. I believe, individually, we have a job to do, which is to wipe out the fear wrapped in the hearts and minds of others. The key to life is happiness. How can that be achieved as a true group if too many of its members are weak and open to ignorance, wanting nothing more than a smear campaign on those that they don’t like? Love and understanding for the greater good are the jobs I believe we are all here on this earth to do. Taking the time to truly know one another is part of the process. Once we commit to doing what’s needed, we can build a stronger path for the future.
